As with any motor vehicle or the other, skateboard also require routine maintenance. When you hear the sound that is not reasonable or squeaking from your skateboard bearings, or your skateboard wheels does not rotate as it should, then this is the time for you to do service for your skateboard.

Here are tips how to clean and care for your skateboard :

1.  Release  the skateboard wheels from the trucks using a socket wrench or a skate tool.

2.  Then, remove from the bearings. To do this, almost back to hook the wheel axle (which must be shot hooked to the end of the axle) and slowly pry the wheel, with the bullet out poping. You must be very careful when doing this, because it can damage the bearings. (But if you plan to replace the old bearings with new, you can purchase hard as you want but be careful not to damage the wheels.)

3.         Once you have separated the bearings from the wheels, you can now clean them separately.

4.         To clean the wheels, use water or mild soap and water solution. Brush the dirt off the wheels or simply wipe them with rag or towel. Check and remove dirt embedded in and around the wheel. Dry the wheels with cloth or towel.

5.         Now, clean the bearings. Take one bearing and spray every edge with a generous amount of Tri-flow Superior Lubricant. Do this on both sides of the bearings. Make sure that you are able to flush away all the dirt inside and in between the ball bearings. Repeat the same procedure to the rest of the bearings.

6.         Once you are done with all the bearings, you can attach them one by one back to the wheels immediately or let them leak and dry first.

7.         Reattach the wheel and bearings assembly back to the truck.

If you have the time to do all these, you can do like the tips  above, and the opposite if you too busy to do like that, just clean the bearings while still inside the wheel. To do this, remove the wheels from the truck and spray Tri-flow Superior Lubricant directly to the bearings. Put down the wheels assembly to remove the lubricant inside. Then, reattach the wheels back to the trucks. While you cleans the bearings, you may want to periodically remove the bearings off its wheel for thorough maintenance.

This routine activity not only save your money, because you should not need to buy a new skateboard. But more than that you will improve your skateboarding experience, and it also will extend your skateboard bearings and wheels  lifespan. Even the process looks to be meticulous but it could be so simple if you do it routinely.

How To Assemble a Skateboard?

By :  Fred Riehl

Now if you want to play skateboard but you don’t have one. You can make it specialized by make skateboard by your self.Materials needed to make a skateboard, including:

1 Skate board deck , 1 sheet skate board deck griptape ,2 skateboard trucks ,4 skateboard wheels ,8 skateboard  bearings, 2 risers 1 set of mounting hardware, 1 philips head screwdriver ,1 skate tool ,1 metal file ,1 sharp razorblade.

Way is as follows:

1. First apply the skate board deck grip tape. By unpeeling the backing and then carefully stick the tape evenly on the top surface of the skate deck. File down the grip tape around the edges of the skateboard, and then carefully use the razorblade to slice off the excess grip tape that hangs over the edges on the skatedeck.

2.Next, attach your skate trucks to your skateboard deck. Use one of the screws from the mounting hardware to poke a hole in the griptape. Then push the mounting hardware from the top of the skatedeck to the bottom.
3. Now slide the risers over the hardware. Next slide your skate trucks on. Make sure that the bushings from the trucks point toward each other or face the center of the board. Tighten the nut with the skate tool until it’s flush with the trucks. Warning: Do not over tighten; you can cause the wood to split.

4. Now press the bearings into your wheels using the skate tool. Repeat this for all four wheels. If you do not have a skate tool. You can use your axe on the trucks by placing the bearing on the axel and then pressing the wheel into the bearing, causing the bearing to slip into the wheel. Warning: Be very carefull not to dent or pinch the metal seal around the sides of the bearing. This will ruin the bearings and cause them not to spin!

5. Once the bearings are in place, you can put the on the trucks. Do not over tighten this will crush the bearing causing it not to role.

6.Now the board is ready to skate. You may need to fine tune the trucks to your liking by loosening them or tighten them. The looser the trucks the easier to carve.

7. Once you are done you can always customize your board with some stickers.Remember to skate safe and wear your pads when needed.
